Saltwater Bath
Bathing in natural salt springs. Revitalizes the metabolism and aids detoxification of the body.

Sanarium
Collective term for the "healing sector". Also includes the low temperature sauna (40-50°C), in which essential oils, e.g. eucalyptus, are used to bring calmness and relaxation to the air passages.

Schroth Cure
Particularly selective type of diet, liquid-drink treatment and moist warm packs which assist detoxification and regulate the metabolism.

Scrub
Mechanical peeling using fine-grained substances such as salts, ground fruit seeds, fine sand and others.

Sea Salt
Salt obtained from sea water. It boosts the metabolism and reverses the retention of water. In high concentrations it helps in the treatment of psoriasis.

Seaweed Extracts
Marine plants rich in vitamins and minerals. In the form of bath additives, crèmes and packs, these provide the skin with valuable nutrients.

Sensophorium
Pleasing sounds, colours, and aromas influence all the senses to bring about a feeling of harmony.

Shiatsu
A Japanese form of acupressure. Specific acupuncture points known as meridians are treated by the use of gentle finger pressure rather than needles to release energy blockages and correct imbalances.

Skipping
Gymnastic exercises with a rope.

Spa
Sanus per aquam (health through water). Wellness facility with an integrated approach to health, beauty and relaxation.

Spectro-Chrome Therapy
Use of filtered UV radiation for the treatment of skin and metabolism disorders. The immune system is stimulated. Light is also used in the treatment of depressive problems.

Spherical Music Therapy
Special form of music which subconsciously promotes feelings of comfort and relaxation.

Steambath
In a water-tight room, hot steam is released periodically through vents to moisturise the skin and air passages. The extremely high humidity results in a temperature of only 60 °C being perceived as very hot.

Stone Therapy
Precious stone therapy which can change body's energy flow through their properties and colour.

Swedish Massage
Similar to the connective tissue massage, combining long stroking movements with circular ones. Complemented by kneading to loosen the deep muscle structure.
